Penny

Help & support

Everything you need to get Penny answering your phone — and a real person whenever you want one.

Getting started

From signup to answering calls in about ten minutes.

Four quick steps in your dashboard. No code, no hardware — keep the number you already give out.

1.Tell Penny about your business

Add your business name, the services you offer, and your hours. Penny uses these to answer callers accurately and book the right jobs.

2.Set her greeting and voice

Choose how Penny introduces herself and what she says first. You can have her mention she's an automated assistant up front, or only when a caller asks.

3.Get your Penny number

Pick a phone number for Penny, or use the one set up for you during onboarding. This is the line your calls forward to.

4.Forward your calls

Point your existing number at your Penny line — every call, or only the ones you miss. The dashboard shows the exact dialing codes for your carrier.

Set up your business, greeting, and number in the dashboard — about ten minutes — then forward your existing line to your Penny number using the step-by-step guide in Settings → Numbers. You can forward every call, or only the calls you don’t pick up.

That’s the default. In the forwarding guide, choose “Only calls you miss” and Penny picks up just when you’re busy or don’t answer — you stay in control of every call you take yourself. The exact dialing codes depend on your carrier, and the guide shows the right ones for yours.

By default Penny keeps answering — she takes a message and emails it to you, so a caller is never sent to a dead end. You choose what happens at your limit in Settings → Billing: take a message, keep answering into a small overage, send to voicemail, or stop. Plans and rates are on the pricing page.

Open Settings → Billing and use Manage subscription. You can switch plans or cancel any time; changes take effect at the end of your billing period.

Everything Penny handles shows up in your dashboard — every call in the Calls log, booked jobs in Appointments, captured leads in Leads, and messages she takes in Messages. She also emails you a summary as calls come in.
