For the people who pick up the phone.

Penny is the AI receptionist for local business. She answers when you can’t — so the plumber under a sink, the roofer on a ladder, and the agent mid-showing never have to choose between the job in front of them and the call coming in.

Why Penny exists

The phone is still how local business gets done.

For a local business, the phone is the front door. But calls have terrible timing — they come while you’re under a sink, on a roof, or already talking to another customer. And callers who reach voicemail mostly don’t leave a message. They call the next name on the list.

The existing options all have a catch. A full-time receptionist is a real salary for a small shop. Answering services charge by the call to read from a script. Most owners just let voicemail catch what it catches.

Penny is our attempt at a better option. She answers in one ring, around the clock, asks what the caller needs, answers questions about your services and hours, books the appointment on your calendar, and texts you the details. Emergencies get escalated, spam gets screened out, and it costs a fraction of a hire.

One rule from the start: if a caller asks, Penny says she’s an automated assistant — and when she doesn’t know something, she takes a message instead of guessing.

What we believe

The rules we run by.

Every call answered

A missed call is a missed customer. Penny picks up in one ring, every hour of every day, so the work keeps coming in even when you can't get to the phone.

Honest by default

Penny tells callers what she is, never invents an answer, and takes a message rather than guessing. We'd rather under-promise on a call than leave someone misled.

Your customers, protected

Call data belongs to you. We encrypt it, keep it only as long as you want, and never sell it.

Set up in minutes
